The weight of the stator does not rest on the bellows, which improves its retention and stability on large-scale installations. <\/p>\n<p>Like all PSS seals, it relies on contact between two perfectly flat surfaces: the Nitronic 50 rotor fixed to the shaft and the stationary carbon face. Compression of the bellows maintains these two surfaces in contact and forms a watertight barrier, without a traditional stuffing box. <\/p>\n<p>The rotor is secured in compression by a split 316L stainless steel collar. The carbon and acetal stator is connected to a reinforced silicone bellows, which is itself attached to the vessel according to the chosen configuration. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; text-align: center;\">This compression maintains the two faces in contact and compensates for engine movement due to propeller thrust. The carbon is bored to a diameter larger than the shaft, allowing it to float around the shaft and absorb any vibrations from the shaft line. The seal of the stainless steel rotor is ensured by two O-rings inserted in the rotor. They rotate with the propeller shaft and therefore cause no wear or friction on the shaft, unlike lip seals which require a shaft with a perfect surface for installation and deteriorate it over time Le carbone PSS pr\u00e9sente des caract\u00e9ristiques d'usure sup\u00e9rieures et une large r\u00e9sistance chimique.<\/p>\n<p>La bague en carbone impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e de r\u00e9sine \u00e0 haute densit\u00e9 est fabriqu\u00e9e \u00e0 partir d\u2019un composite exclusif qui est d\u2019abord m\u00e9lang\u00e9 et moul\u00e9, puis form\u00e9 sous pression. Les \u00e9bauches sont ensuite cuites, usin\u00e9es et rod\u00e9es pour obtenir une plan\u00e9it\u00e9 mesur\u00e9e de 4 bandes lumineuses d\u2019h\u00e9lium (mesur\u00e9e \u00e0 0,000044\" de variation sur l\u2019ensemble de la surface rod\u00e9e). Le carbone PSS pr\u00e9sente des caract\u00e9ristiques d'usure sup\u00e9rieures et une large r\u00e9sistance chimique.<\/p>\n<p>La bague en carbone impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e de r\u00e9sine \u00e0 haute densit\u00e9 est fabriqu\u00e9e \u00e0 partir d\u2019un composite exclusif qui est d\u2019abord m\u00e9lang\u00e9 et moul\u00e9, puis form\u00e9 sous pression. Les \u00e9bauches sont ensuite cuites, usin\u00e9es et rod\u00e9es pour obtenir une plan\u00e9it\u00e9 mesur\u00e9e de 4 bandes lumineuses d\u2019h\u00e9lium (mesur\u00e9e \u00e0 0,000044\" de variation sur l\u2019ensemble de la surface rod\u00e9e). Le composite de carbone utilis\u00e9 dans le joint d\u2019arbre PSS pr\u00e9sente une temp\u00e9rature de fonctionnement maximale de 500 \u00b0F (+260 \u00b0C) et ne fond pas si le joint fonctionne \u00e0 sec pendant une courte p\u00e9riode, contrairement \u00e0 un joint \u00e0 l\u00e8vre ou \u00e0 un joint \u00e0 face en plastique.
